Dr. Wang's current research interests are in coastal, estuary, and lake hydrodynamics, and hydraulic engineering. He has been Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator for 27 funded projects since 1991 amounting to about $1 million. His work has resulted in more than 80 refereed and non-refereed papers.

- Dr. Abdusselam Altunkaynak, Dept. of Civil Engineering, Istanbul Technical University (Sept. 1, 2008-Aug. 31, 2009)
Research collaboration with Dr. Altunkaynak to work on the projects related to the development of predictive models for estimating fluid velocities, significant wave heights, and suspended sediment concentration in Lake Okeechobee, Florida using the Artificial Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, and Geno-Kalman Filtering approaches. Dr. Altunkaynak delivered a seminar on the topic of “Modern modeling techniques and their applications in hydraulic engineering” to the hydraulics/water resources group on November 20, 2008. He is currently giving lectures once a week to my M.S./Ph.D. students to jointly guide students for the potential establishment of other research projects.
